The Oregon Medical Education Foundation (OMEF)'s Future of Medicine Leadership Scholarship is helping Oregon’s current MD, DO & PA student leaders thrive!
Award goals: This award aims to recognize and develop the leadership talent of students pursuing a medical education in Oregon. In this competitive scholarship, one MD, one DO and one PA student ("Scholars") may be selected to receive a $10,000 award and additional support such as a mentor.
APPLICATION DEADLINE - SEPTEMBER 15 AT 11:59PM.
As leadership can take many forms, this scholarship is not primarily needs- or merit-based. Oregon's students are exceptional and everyone has a story to tell - we look forward to getting to know you through this process.
Who should apply: All current students in the programs listed are eligible for consideration. Those who can demonstrate a track record of leadership/community service, who have overcome significant challenges in their pursuit of a medical education and/or who have a deep affinity for serving the communities of Oregon are especially encouraged to apply.
STEP ONE: Students, please use the Apply Now button on the right to start your application.
STEP TWO: Two letters of recommendation are required - one each from your medical program and a community organization you have volunteered with. (The community organization does NOT have to be Oregon-based.) Applicants should share this link with Recommenders for submissions.
All materials are due by 11:59pm on Thursday, September 15, 2022. Late/incomplete applications cannot be accepted.
If you are selected as a Finalist, we will reach out to schedule a Zoom interview. All applicants will be notified once the committee has made their decision, no later than November 30.
Recipients will be announced at our virtual Future of Medicine Scholarship Drawing on Thursday, December 1. As is our custom, other scholarships will be drawn at random that too - please visit www.theomef.org/events to register (free) for that exciting event!
