Vision: Statewide Mentorship Program

Mentorship can have a profoundly positive effect on those pursuing a medical education.  And yet, despite the critical support that mentors provide, almost 2/3 of DO, MD, and PA students never find one, and it probably won't surprise you that match rates for female students and students of color are even lower.  Students who do find someone often feel unsure about where to start, and to be fair, so can first-time Mentors.  Many pairs struggle to make a meaningful connection, or come up with a structure that works, leaving both sides feeling frustrated.

We believe we can help. Our program is designed to make thoughtful matches at scale, provide time-saving resources that help pairs start strong, and  build a thriving community that fosters closer connections across and between clinicians statewide.

Led by OMEF, this project is the result of a collaborative effort from like-minded partner organizations who care about mentorship as much as we do.
