The Oregon Medical Education Foundation's Future of Medicine Leadership Scholarship is helping Oregon’s current DO, MD and PA student leaders thrive! Launched in 2021 to recognize the leadership talent and potential of students pursuing a medical education in Oregon, this competitive $10,000 scholarship is awarded to one DO, one MD, and one PA student each year. Scholars may be selected to receive additional supports, such as a mentor.
While not strictly need-based, this scholarship aims to identify and support students at the intersection of leadership development and financial need, who have a track record of community impact and who, if financial or other obstacles were removed, would be able to achieve more and faster.
This scholarship is unique from other awards in that we seek to build a relationship with Scholars through mentorship and other assistance to help them throughout their medical education.
The 2027 application will open near the end of 2026.
Current students in good academic standing in any of the following programs may apply:
- Western University College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific NW (DO students)
- George Fox Physician Assistant/Associate Program (PA students)
- OHSU School of Medicine (MD students, including those pursuing dual degree MD/PhD or MD/MPH)
- OHSU Physician Assistant/Associate Program (PA students)
- Pacific University Physician Assistant/Associate Program (PA students)
